When my little and I first matched she was 8 yrs old. She was shy and needed to come out of her shell. One day, we went to the touchless carwash with my old Neon. As we went through, my drivers door was leaking. Soap started to slightly spray through, I was getting wet. I started to panic. She started giggling. I asked her if she thought it was funny and she started to laugh, nodding her head. I said "you think that's funny? You think that's funny hey?" and she laughed louder & louder.
I waited until the wash made its way around to her side and I reached over and rolled her window down 1/2 way. She started to scream, laughing at the same time, she grabbed the manual window handle and closed it. Both 1/2 soaked,we laughed our way home.
Now its 5 years later. Ashley will be 14 this month and we still see each other weekly for the most part. I now have a 2008 Beetle convertable. We enter the touchless car wash. Ashley told me the most fun we ever had was that day in the car wash. I said "you really thought that was funny?"a few times, and again she said yes. As we got into the middle and the wash came around to her she was still laughing so I now have electric windows and opened hers from my side. The water poured in, she screamed and laughed.
When I tried to close the window, I couldn't and I thought I ruined my electric windows, satelite sterio and speakers. I was devastaded. Then it came time for the pink, blue and purple soap...I was going to make a run for it out of the carwash when the wash was at the back of my car but I was afraid I'd ruin something. Then came the massive water spray,we were both soaked, laughing and screaming at the same time.
Then I realized..after the 3rd round that I could probably get the window up if I turned on the ignition....So I did and WOW, the automatic window closed. We must have looked like a couple of crazy people to the lineup behind us. They were sure staring at us.
When the wash quit,we drove off, hiding our faces as best we could and headed straight to my sister's house nearby for towels to wipe up the interior.
All was OK,nothing ruined. I know it's times like this that make my little sister ask occasionally if we can still be friends after she turns 18. She's adorable. I always say yes.
